This page outlines the rules for using Home-Me website, www.myhome-me.com, and services. Home-Me is based in South Africa. Home-me is owned and operated by Home-Me (Pty) Ltd, registration number:.2025/22594/07. BY ACCEPTING THESE TERMS OF SERVICE, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY ALL OF THE PROVISIONS BELOW. PLEASE READ THEM CAREFULLY. By using the website, you agree to follow these rules. Home-Me can change the terms at any time, so check back regularly.
1. TERMS
1.1 Definitions
Home-Me Storage is an online listing platform connecting individuals for the purpose of using Space Owner’s space for storage. In this document, the term “Home-Me” or “Space Owner” refers to the individual who offers space for stored items. The term “Space seeker” refers to the person who makes use of the Home-Me’s space. The term “Space” refers to the area of the Home-Me’s property, rented or offered for rental. The term “Listing” refers to the searchable description of the Home-Me’s Space as found on the website. The term “Stored Items” refer to the property or goods of the Space seeker that are stored on the Home-Me’s Space. “Service”” or “Services” refer to all services that we offer, but not limited to admin services and the website accessible at https://myhome-me.com/
1.2 Terms of use
• You can’t use the website to break any laws or infringe on anyone’s rights.
• Don’t use robots or automated tools to copy or monitor the website.
• Don’t interfere with the website’s operations or overload the system.
• Don’t copy or modify any content without permission.
2. TERMS OF SERVICE
2.1 Home-Me Storage
Home-Me Storage provides a marketplace for Home-Me’s (Space Owners) and Space seekers to connect and arrange bookings for storage. Home-Me Storage does not own any properties or the space thereof. Home-Me Storage is not a real estate agent nor is it able to re-rent or control properties. Home-Me Storage do not accept payments from Space seekers on behalf of the Home-Me and in imperfect circumstances do not assist with instances where Space seekers have not paid in accordance to the terms between Space seekers and Home-Me. Home-Me Storage cannot be held responsible for the behaviour in which Home-Me’s or Space seekers conduct themselves or other users of the website and rejects any and all liability.
2.2 Agreement to Terms.
In using this website you agree to comply with the terms and conditions of this document. These terms are to ensure that the website is used for its main purpose. If you do not agree to these terms you have no right to continue on the website. Inappropriate use of this website services will result in being removed from the website.
2.3 Home-Me and Space seeker agreements.
YOU AGREE THAT HOME-ME STORAGE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY AGREEMENTS MADE BETWEEN HOME-ME AND RENTERS. HOME-ME STORAGE WILL IN LIMITATIONS AGREE TO RESOLVE DISPUTES BETWEEN HOME-ME AND SPACE SEEKERS. WRITTEN AGREEMENTS MADE BETWEEN HOME-ME’S AND SPACE SEERKERS WILL SUPERSEDE CONTRADICTORY TERMS. ANY AGREEMENT BETWEEN HOME-ME’S AND RENTERS WILL NOT INTERFERE WITH TERMS SPECIFIED IN THIS DOCUMENT, INCLUDING (a) ALL PAYMENTS FROM RENTERS TO HOME-ME’S MUST BE MADE ON THIS WEBSITE.
2.3 Listing Information. Listing information is provided by verified Home-Me’s. Home-Me Storage does not take responsibility for the information provided on the listing or the suitability of the space.
2.4 Age Requirement. The website is strictly for persons who are 18 years old and older. Anyone that makes use of the website that is below this age is prohibited. By making use of this website you permit that you are 18 years of age or older.
2.4 Notice of Debt Owed. PLEASE NOTE THAT BY USING THIS WEBSITE AND COMPLETING ANY BOOKING, YOU AGREE THAT YOU WILL MAKE USE OF THE STORAGE SPACE AS INTENDED AND ACCORDING TO THE PREFERENCES OF THE HOME-ME. YOU ARE ALSO CONSENTING TO THE AGREEMENT THAT THE HOME-ME TAKES POSSESSION OF THE STORED ITEMS THAT BELONGS TO YOU UNTIL YOU HAVE CLEARED THE DEBT YOU
3. FAIR AND UNPREJUDICED TREATMENT
3.1 Home-Me storage welcomes individuals from different cultures and values. We do not excuse discrimination and believe that the users of the website will not decline Space seekers based on their race, colour, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual-orientation, gender identity, disability or marital status.
3.2 Recurring rejections from Home-Me’s. We would like to create a welcoming environment, a sense of community and therefore Home-Me’s who shows a recurring pattern of rejection of bookings, threatens the strength of community – ubuntu – Home-Me Storage may remove such persons from the platform.
4. USER ACCOUNTS
Home-Me accounts created will first undergo moderation, a review process of listing/s uploaded. Home-Me’s may not have more than one It is your responsibility, whether you are a Home-Me or Space seeker to keep your information up to date and accurate. It is required that both the Home-Me and the Space seeker provide secondary contact information in the event that you are unreachable.
4.1. Termination of User Accounts. (i) If Home-Me’s create more than one account(ii) if any information that is provided is inaccurate, not current or complete and in breach of this terms. Termination of account may result in the removal of account information and associated content.
4.2 Password. Please safeguard your password. Do not disclose your password to anyone. You will take responsibility for any activities on your user profile/account. You will notify Home-Me Storage via email if you have discovered that there has been any unauthorised actions on your account.
5. PAYMENT AUTHORISATION
5.1 Requested bookings will require the Space Seeker to provide customary billing and payment information, including your name, billing address and credit card or other payment information. Space seeker’s authorise the collection of all amounts by charging the credit card or other payment method provided by the Space seeker.
6. LISTINGS
6.1 Storage Listings All Storage listings should have information but not limited to the location, size, features, availability, pricing, related rules and financial terms. All Listings must have a valid physical address. Listings will not make physical addresses public to Space seekers until confirmed bookings and payments thereof have been made by related Space seeker.
6.2 Accuracy Of Listings. Home-Me’s acknowledge and agree that they are responsible for the information provided in listings and (i) is a true reflection of the space, size, capacity etc. (ii) have the rights to occupy or rent the Space. If the above is not adhered to, Home-Me Storage in it’s sole discretion will determine based on it’s findings to flag the Home-Me. If the Space seeker believes that the Space is not a true reflection of the listing shown on the website, the Space seeker is entitled to refuse to rent the Space. Home-Me Storage encourages space seekers to view the provided space before proceeding with arrangements with Home-Me’s (Space Owners).
6.3 Prohibited Items. When you create a listing, you may also choose to include prohibited items that must be met by the Space seeker that requests a booking of your Space. Failure to adhere to this term can result, without limitation (i) immediate removal of stored items and termination of user account.
6.4 Space seeker Disclosures. Space seekers agree to disclose on the website all the items they request to store upon Bookings for You acknowledge and agree that Home-Me Storage and the Space Owner is not liable for undisclosed items and you accept liability for any damages caused to the Home-Me’s Space or property by any undisclosed items.
6.5 Space seeker Access to Space. Home-Me’s must provide Space seekers with the times that they are able to access their stored items or space. In some cases, the Home-Me may provide the Space seeker with means for unlimited access to Stored Items. The Space seeker must make contact with the Home-Me in advance to request access unless agreed upon otherwise specified in written Home- Me’s must make the necessary arrangements with Space seekers and respond to Space seekers timeously. The Space seeker is encouraged to keep Space Owners informed regarding any anticipated changes that may affect the terms of use of space.
6.6 Transportation of Stored Items. Home-Me’s are not required to transport or handle the Stored Items Home-Me Storage recommends that the Home-Me does not handle the Space seekers Stored If a Home-Me handles the Stored Items it is at their own risk.
6.7 Conditions for conclusion of Bookings. At or before the end of a Booking period for the Space, the Space seeker must vacate the Space completely. The Space seeker must leave the space in a good Space seeker’s will be charged an additional fee should there be a delay in the removal of stored items or not adhering to booking times for office use. The Space seeker may incur costs should the space not be left in a good condition. Once the Space seeker has removed all stored items and left the space in a good condition, the Space seeker no longer has any right to access of the Space.
6.8 INSURANCE. Home-Me’s takes responsibility of the stored items on theirproperty and agree to secure and protect such items from damages or theft through the use of gates, locks, cameras etc. As an additional protection Home-Me Storage encourages that a Home Contents Insurance plan is taken for such Stored items or adding it to an existing Home Contents Plan that the Home-Me may already have.
6.9. TAXES. Home-Me’s agree that they are responsible for determining tax reporting to SARS or consult with a tax advisor. Home-Me Storage does not provide tax
7. BOOKINGS
7.1 Bookings When accepting and declining bookings, you must approve or decline the bookings timeously of when the Booking is requested. When the Booking is confirmed and payment has been made then only the address should be shared for Space seekers to view the space.
8. VERIFICATION CHECKS
8.1 Home-Me’s will be required to send information and confirmation of identification. In this way Home-Me will receive verified badges.
9. DAMAGES TO STORED ITEMS
9.1 For Stored Items, Home-Me’s are responsible for damages caused by them to the Space seeker’s Stored Items. To avoid disputes, Home-Me’s are encouraged to record the initial condition of the Items.
9.2 DAMAGE TO HOME-ME’S Space seekers are responsible for damages that they cause to Home-Me’s property or Space. To avoid disputes, Space seekers are encouraged to record the initial condition of the Home-Me’s property and Space.
9.3 Space seeker’s Use Of Space. Space seeker agrees not to use the Space for any unlawful purpose. The Space is to be used by the Space seeker only for it’s sole purpose. Unless Home-Me and Space seeker agree otherwise, Space seeker may not modify Home-Me’s Property or utilise security monitoring systems or cameras on Home-Me’s property. Space seeker must comply with Home-Me’s reasonable instructions to use of Space as per arranged contract.
10. Prohibited Items.
The following items are prohibited:
EXPLOSIVES, FUEL, FLAMMABLE MATERIALS
WASTE OF ANY KIND
PESTICIDES
TOXIC CHEMICALS
FIREARMS OR AMMUNITION
DRUGS OR ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES
STOLEN GOODS OR OTHER CONTRABAND
FOOD ITEMS, PERISHABLE FOODS, SPOILED FOOD LIVING OR DECEASED ANIMALS
MOLDY ITEMS
ANY ITEM THAT EMITS FUMES OR STRONG ODOUR
ANY OTHER ITEMS SPECIFICALLY IDENTIFIED BY THE HOST ON THE LISTINGS AS EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED
ANY ITEMS THAT MAY VIOLATE IN ANY WAY APPLICABLE LAWS, RULES OR REGULATIONS
10.1 Space seeker’s Breach Of This Section. In the event that the Home-Me is suspicious of a breach to this section by the Space seeker, the Space seeker agrees that the Home-Me has the right to immediately terminate the Booking and demand that the Space seeker remove the Stored Items from the Home-Me’s premises. If the Space seeker does not remove the Stored Item or themself provided herein, the Home-Me may take all legal actions in reasonable discretion which actions may include, disposal of the Stored Items pursuant of these terms. The Home-Me may also contact law enforcement or other authorities to report illegal activities of Space seeker. In the event that the Home-Me suspects that Stored Items is in breach of the terms, the Space seeker hereby, gives permission for authorities to search the Stored Items without a warrant. The Space seeker will not hold Home-Me storage or the Home- Me responsible for any liability arising from or relating to the removal of Stored property including any allegations or investigations relating thereto.
11. Reviews
11.1 Home-Me’s and Space seekers may have an opportunity to complete reviews. The review must be accurate and may not contain any discriminatory, offensive, foul language or anything that violates a review policy.
12. REPORTING MISCONDUCT
12.1 If you feel that anyone acted inappropriately which may include but not limited to inappropriate sexual behaviour, offensive use of language or violent behaviour, please report such individuals to appropriate authorities, including law enforcement and to Home-Me Storage, provided that your report will not require Home-Me Storage to take action other than what is applicable by law or cause Home-Me Storage to experience any liability to you.
Home-Me Storage does not warrant that the listing or any space will meet your exact requirements or website be available on an uninterrupted, secure, virus-free basis. Home-Me Storage makes no attempt to review or visit any space. Home-Me Storage does not warrant regarding the quality of listings, space, the services or content or accuracy or reliability of content obtained through the website services. You are solely responsible for interactions with other users of the site. You agree to take reasonable precautions in all communications and interactions with other users of the website and with other persons with who you communicate or interact as a result of your use of the site or services, including, but not limited to Home-Me’s and Space seekers, particularly if you decide to meet offline or offline Home-Me Storage shall not be held liable for any act or omission of any Space seeker or other third party.
You agree to release and hold Home-Me Storage, employees harmless from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses and expenses, including and not limited to reasonable legal fees that may result from anything that may involve:
- injury occurring to any person or property as a result of the use, occupancy, travel to or from, or the entry or exit from any Space by you;
- your access to the website services or your violation or breach of terms
- your (i) interaction with any user (ii) Booking of Space (iii) creation of listing or(iv) the use, condition or rental of a Space by you, including, but not limited to any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising from or as a result of a Booking or use of a Space;
- any dispute between you and another user of the website
- any breach or misappropriation of a third party’s rights
